Has anyone stayed at Eber Mars Hotel or Hotel Langlois?
My first choice was Hotel Muguet- all booked for our dates. I was reading my Rick Steves book and I saw a place in the same area called Eber Mars Hotel. It looks like a small hotel but a very nice one. The price is right and they replied to my email within 24 hours which I always think is a good sign.
The other hotel is not in the center of all the action (in the 9th) but I have read good reviews on it and again nice looking rooms particularly for the price. MY ideal price range is 100-110 euros per night.

ilove tulips, you may or not know the Hotel Langlois was formally named the Hotel des Croisés but when they filmed the remake of Charade(The Truth about Charlie) they named the hotel in the film Langlois and the owners decided to keep the name.

Yes I did know that, but I haven't seen the movie. Do you know anyone who has stayed at the hotel? Tripadvisor gives wonderful reviews. I must say I am partial to the Eber Mars because of its proximity to the Eiffel Tower. So hard to decide!

Hi - first message ever posted
So what is the final on the Hotel Langlois?
I have been debating: Langlois, Paris Rivoli, or Jeanne D'Arc [seems to get mixed reviews] I have to be able to get to Roissy by about 7.30 am so access to Roissy bus or metro B would be important.
Thanks

I think a lot of hotels have mixed reviews, it is hard to avoid. I know both the Jeanne d'Arc and Eber Mars do, don't know the reputation of the Rivoli but I know its location. Langlois seems a very good value at that price range, it isn't in a location most people would select if they had their choice, but it's not a bad location and isn't far out or anything. I know that area and it is okay.
I'd probably choose the Langlois from reputation. I assume you have very little luggage as I don't think any of these hotels are going to be within a block walk of one of those departure points to the airport. So, you'll have to transfer on the metro or something.
The Langlois is very near gare St Lazare stop and then you take the metro a couple stops to the OPera stop, and the Roissy bus stop is right on the side of the Opera building. For the Rivoli, I think that is very near St Paul metro, so you'd have to take the metro to Chatelete/Les Halles stop and transfer to the RER B to the airport.

I posted earlier about some negative comments on this forum regarding the Eber Mars... but yesterday I was surfing the Rick Steves 'graffiti wall' and noticed a number of people saying they enjoyed their stay at the same hotel..so...not sure what to think.

You might want to see if Hotel Muguet is available for some of your dates. A friend stayed at the Eber Mars recently and was not pleased. But the 7th is chock full of reasonably priced hotels that receive better reviews.
We've booked the Hotel Langlois in May, based on the raves everywhere. We're looking forward to spacious rooms and bathrooms, something not found in the hotels in the 7th I've researched.
You may want to check out http://www.hotelempereur.com/default1.html which is just up the street from Hotel Muguet (and right across from the La Tour-Maubourg metro station). Friends stay here every trip to Paris and rave about the low prices and friendly service.
