Has anyone ever called a CHAMBER of COMMERCE in Italy
Hello,
I'll be going to the Tuscany region this fall. I pretty much narrowed down the place that i'd like to stay at but have no referrals from it. I figured I would call the chamber of commerce in that town and ask their opinion.
Does Italy have such a such a thing? And how would I go about contacting them?

Thanks for any input, Carolyn

Carolyn, this may seem like s tupid answer but have you tried the Internet?

Italy has most certainly got Chambers of Commerce, but municpalities often have a tourist function that might be helpful. Try a search and see what you get.

Also you could ask here if anyone knows the place you're talking about.

The above advice about running a thread with the specific information regarding the house you want to rent is good, you will probably hear from people who know the house or the landlord.

Here are two sites in English that might be helpful.

http://www.amcham.it/English/home.asp - English version of the website for the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy. This is primarily an association of Americans doing business in Italy, but they may be able to answer your question.

http://www.turismo.toscana.it/ttgg/htmle/ttidgge.htm - English version of the website of the state tourism authority of Tuscany.
I just recently found this website not too long ago and I must say, I am hooked. I find it so informative. Everyone is so helpful, some funny and some questionable but that's what makes it so great!!!!!!
