Lisa, thank you very much for the update.
Meira, you're welcome. "Happy 8th night of Chanukah, Israel" from the U.S.
Thanks Mimi, that IS hilarious ("God rest ye, Jerry Mendelbaum")

Unfortunately, Chanukah is all finished for 2001. We can now post parodies of Christmas carols

(Hark the Herald Tribune Sings
Advertising wondrous things.)

and bring back the Chanukah thread next year.

Thanks Lauren, I'll top it next year on the 1st day of Chanukah! Why don't you start a Christmas parody thread!

Thanks everyone for responding. It seems a lot of people either REALLY like Adam Sandler or Chanukah (or both!).

Now it's time to let this one slide gracefully down the thread list.

Fodors please remove this post as I find it very offensive. Fodors should be free of religious rants and raves.

Yeah whatever [email protected]...
You went to the trouble of seeking out and topping an old thread because you find it offensive? Makes a lot of sense...not!

x, after chuckling through this thread, YOUR post gave me a belly laugh. Religious rants and raves, indeed. Would that all religious rants and raves were as good-humored and innocent as this one!

x has a point. if you see someone on Fodors saying Merry Christmas they get attacked for posting something (as quoted by some anonymous poster) "offensive". I see a double standard on Fodors.

If you do a text search for "merry christmas," there are several with that in the title, and none have any disparaging replies.
