No transformer!!! Plug adapter so you can plug it into the European sockets -- You know, the two flat U.S. ends won't plug into the two round European holes.

Jenbirds, if you have a converter, it should have come with a variety of plug adaptors. At least mine did. That way, if you have an appliance that does not convert to 220, you plug the appliance into the converter, then plug the converter into the plug adaptor that will fit the socket.
If you appliance is adaptable to 220, then you plug the appliance into the appropriate plug adaptor and then plug that into the socket.

A converter is a transformer. You don't need to convert the electricity from 220 to 110. Since you already have a 220, you just need to plug it into the wall. Ergo, you need an adapter!!! Get the GS-20.
If you're talking about taking your 110 flat iron and using the "converter" you are talking about, I strongly recommend against that. You will eventually end up "frying" your iron.
