Gulet Trip/Turkey
Starting to plan a possible trip to Turkey next July - I have been reading some of the Turket\y threads here and would like to know specifically what a "Gulet Cruise" or "Blue Cruise" is. Is it a special type of boat? Where does it sail to and from? Costs? Are they private tours? I also noticed you can get them for different amount of days...any additional information would be GREAT!! Thanks.

Go the this website for a good description and a couple of pictures:

Many companies do the gulet trips and we thought about it, but passed on the idea. While in Marmaris (one of the main centers for the gulets) in May, there were dozens and dozens of them available, some even for private charter for very little money.
Sorry I don't have a specific company to recommend. One thing to think about. July is normally HOT. The boats are not airconditioned, and I do a few people have posted that it was too hot in their tiny rooms, so they usually slept on the deck.

4totravel, I see you are not new here and have posted a lot. Perhaps you don't know how to use the search function as suggested by Louise. I was going to bring some old threads from here to the top for you to see, but there are too many of them! Go to the top of this page. In the text search box, type in "Gulet Cruise" and then click for Turkey in the box next to it. Click "search". You will get dozens of threads about them. Some are descriptions of where people went, and several list specific operators and their comments about them. Others are little more than arguments about a guy who used to post here and whether he was advertising or not.
Using the search function will get you the ideas from hundreds of posters, not just those who happen by here today or tomorrow who may have happened to do a gulet cruise.

I wasn't able to add the gulet cruise as my traveling companion couldn't take the additional time. However, the tour I used was with Pacha Tours (based in New York and they have a website). In hindsight, I wish I would have just added it on myself as the tour was excellent.
