Greetings from Tuscany

Hi folks

Our first few days in Florence have been very nice...we got to see the Uffizi, Accademia, the Duomo etc. The weather has been great...about 35 degrees and we have had some nice food and some good wine. After a short stop in Pisa to check out the leaning tower we are now in the middle of Chianti on a place called Capovento:

The landscape of Tuscany is beautiful and it is great just driving around looking at the beautiful hills, wineyards, farms etc. Today the plan is to check out some wineyards and maybe get to taste some wine

Regards
Gard

Hello gard, I was just on my way to bed when I clicked on the Europe Board and saw your thread.

I am so glad you two are having a wonderful time. Continue to enjoy the beautiful landscape and enjoy the wine, I know you will!!

Hi,
Sounds like you're having fun, but wine tasting at 35 deg could go to your head! Have a little taste for us
We're freezing our butts off here in not so sunny Cape Town, but at least we're not flooded out like the uk, very sad.
Hope your trip is wonderful.

We are visiting Florence in September at the start of a bike trip around Tuscany. We are booked into a hotel the first and last night called the Boscolo Astoria. Do you know anything about it? There were very mixed reviews on TravelAdvisor including one mentioning "bed bugs" and another mentioning dead bugs stuck to the walls and lack of cleanliness. This is my first time out of the US so I'm getting the creeps thinking about our first night! Any thoughts?

Sue,

You will do best to start your own post with your specific hotel named in the title. You should get some responses that way!

Buon viaggio
