Thanos, thanks for those insights.

On another thread, which you may not have seen, I mentioned your saying there is a weekend (or two) in May when the students come to Mykonos for the weekend. Do you know when that will be in 2007?

Hi Heimdall

I do not know yet. About a month ago I mentioned in another thraed to think carefully about being here the last two weekends (Friday to Mondays). This year it was earlier (2nd last) when the students arrived but the year before it was the last weekend. It has to do with when the student term ends. I have searched tonight but can find no up to date information on University websites in Athens.

As soon I do, I will post it on the board.

Hi Heimdall

I ask some business people in town today about next years student weekend.

They all say they have been told to expect in 2007 that the students will begin arriving the weekend from Friday 18th May and stay until Monday 21st.

Sure, some arrive before perhaps a few days early but most coming on the Friday that week. I will post this on the other thread where same question was asked.

I think too, after reading your messages, you are Fodors expert on Paros and Antiparos. I am shamed to say I live a little distance from them, spent much time there as a child and you know more about than me. My school teacher (from Paros!) would be unhappy.

Thanks, Thanos, but I must admit I am in a bit of a rut. My first experience of the Cyclades was your beautiful island of Mykonos. I have been to Naxos several times, and Koufonissia too, but for the last several years have been returning to Antiparos. The only problem with Antiparos is that once there, it is so difficult to leave. Sometimes I take the ferry to Paros to explore that island, usually to Parikia or Naoussa. I have American friends in Aliki who can arrange holidays through their website: http://parosparadise.com/.

Reading other posts and researching for answers has taught me a lot about the ferry and plane schedules, and sparked my interest in visiting some of the other Cyclades. Next year I am thinking of Sifnos-Milos-Folegandros-Santorini. I probably won't have time to stop at all those islands, but one thing for sure, I will be returning to Antiparos.

Hi Heimdall

Good selection of islands. If I had to choose it would be Sifnos and Folegandros. Quieter islands not so changed by tourists and more traditional Greece. Sure there are tourists but not so many as other Cyclades islands.

Milos is OK but little busier and not so much, for me, a place to visit.

Santorini is a place for many people to see and I recommend it but it is not my first or second choice from those you list.
