Heading to Greece end of August. Will need to rent car for trip on Peloponnese. Will save $100. renting at airport but will have to travel to airport from port after returning from Hydra. Is it easier (less hassle) to get into city from port to rent or to airport? Not sure if it would be worth the $100 savings to go into the city. Appreciate your input. Thanks.

From the port you can easily reach the airport with the Express bus.

Ticket price is 5 Euro per person.

Getting the Car at the Aiport makes driving easier, as it is located on the Attiki Odos highway, that takes to straight to the highway to Corinth.

Thanks Clausar - that sounds great and saves money too! May I ask you about something else: planning to visit Delphi, Olympia, Kardamyli, Monemvasia, Nafplio and spend 1 night at each location in order to add 3 days to be used on Santorini & Mykonos. Is 1 night doable in Kardamyli, Monemvasia & Nafplio? Concerned that it will be a long drive to get to these locations & then leave next day. If we stay 2 nights in Kardamyli, Monemvasia & Nafplio that leaves only 3 days for Santorini & 2 for Mykonos. Hope I am not taking advantage of your generosity of information. Thanks!

Here are some distances in Kilometer

Olympia - Kardamyli : 150 km

Kardamyli - Monemvasia : 130 km

Monemvasia - Nafplio : 200 km

Delphi - Olympia : 240 km

These are long drives, especially if you stop at various places... ( Diros Caves, Nafpaktos, Galaxidi etc)
You will only have half day at disposal at each place, which would be too short for me.

Clausar, Thank you very much for your prompt reply. After checking the prices of hotels on Santorini and Mykonos in September I think I will extend my trip in Kardamyli and Monemvasia & shorten it on the islands.
