Granada day trip from Marbella
Hello. We are staying in Marbella for 3 weeks this March and would like to do a trip up to Granada for two days. I can't seem to find a "tour company" that does that trip as a standard tour. I am looking for any suggestions. We will not have a car, so I think we could take the bus directly? I am told that I will need to get my tickets for Alhambra quickly! I will use my Fodors Spain book to pick a hotel. Thank you for any suggestions for a tour company or how best to do this.

I cannot recommend a tour company. However, you can certainly do this trip on your own. I know the ALSA bus goes from Malaga to Granada, not sure about Marbella. From Malaga to Granada, it's a 1.5 hour ride.
Yes, you have to get your Alhambra tickets quickly! They go on sale 3 months before, and start selling out fast. I hope you are not too late for March.
We stayed at the El Ladron D'Agua, Carrera del Darro, 13. Excellent location! We liked our room, and included breakfast was good.
Hope this helps.

Granada overnight
If you don't already have Alhambra tickets, it's going to be difficult to buy them online (Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife). The web site is showing no availability for March or April, but we were able to purchase Dobla de Oro tickets for mid-April. They are a little more expensive but they are the only tickets when the regular tickets are sold out. There are some tickets showing for Monday-Wednesday in March. The last week of March has tickets available the entire week. The tickets will give you access to the Alhambra and six Hispano-Muslim monuments in the Albaicín.
If your not driving, then the bus is the best option. We've used Premier for transfer between Málaga and Granada https://www.limousines-premier.com, but you can also check the local Málaga taxis. Just keep away from Viator. They belong to TripAdvisor and don't have their own services.
