Good short-term rental agencies in Paris?
My daughter is going to be working and studying in Paris for up to a year near rue la braque in the Marais. Can anyone recommend a good short-term rental apartment agency? Thanks so much!

Agree with Guenmai. Definitely do some more searching, assuming you've done a little already.
Here's one link that may help you get started:

Hope y'all find the perfect place and that your daughter has an extraordinary year in Paris.
Best wishes,
Tricia

All agencies will rent to someone as long as they want, as far as I know. That doesn't mean they will be cheap, of course. I think the ones that are agencies only acting as go-betweens for private owners are probably better possibilities as they are usually cheaper, though, or have some monthly rates (like Paris Attitude).
I just used www.lodgis.fr and it's similar to Paris Attitude, but they have been very efficient, professional and responsive in all my dealings with them so far. They have lots of apts and many have monthly rates. I think aparisianhome.com also has some long-term ones.

Hi Weadles, you may also want to look at
www.vrbo.com
(vacation rental by owner) website, as these are by owner you may be able to negotiate a long term rental for a better price. Also some properties are priced in USD rather than Euro and some take PayPal. I've rented thru different vrbo owners serveral time in Paris and throughout Germany and have always been happy with my accommodations. Hope this helps.

Thanks, suspaul!
We are just wading through all the long-stay visa requirements now, then need to figure out the apartment! She will be studying at a school in Paris and working part time there as well. Trying to figure out if she's better off going through school housing which means a daily commute of up to 1 1/2 hours, or renting an apartment closer in on her own. Anyway, thanks for your help!

Weadles,
I am in Paris now. A couple weeks ago while sitting on a stool and having lunch at Les Cocottes a nice looking young man sat next to me. Upon hearing me speak English he struck up a conversation with me. He is from Houston and has been studying at the Sorbonne for 2 years. We talked about housing. He feels VERY fortunate to have a place here in the 7th..costs a bit more...but he manages. He doens't even have a microwave. He eats mainly sandwiches..said there is a "famous" Greek sandwich place in the 5th! I think he must manage to eat at Les Cocottes on Saturdays. They told me he was a regular. I should have bought his lunch.Anyway, he told me housing and student housing was difficult. Many do not want to rent to students.
I may go to Les Cocottes on Sat. I will look for him..buy his lunch, too!
Good luck with your search....
