good restaurants/Wengen/Zermatt/Zurich
Hi, Can someone suggest some nice restaurants in both Wengen and Zermatt? Will be there in a few weeks. Maybe both lunch type less expensive in Wengen and a nicer one for dinner in Zermatt, and inexpensive lunch/ ha..right? . We have dinner with hotel stay in Wengen. Thanks a lot. Also maybe some good restaurants in Zurich near Lake Zurich, mainly for dinner, hopefully not outrageous costs.... Has anyone gone on the fondue dinner city tour in Zurich that goes also to the chocolate factory? Sounds interesting. Sue

Almost all hotels that I know of in Wengen offer full board.
There is Pizza Sina for casual dining.
The Hotel Shönegg has a nice terrace for dining, but I don't think Herbert Mayer is the chef there now. He was brilliant!
For Zürich, there is always Hiltl.
Very Posh for lunch: Terrace of Hotel Baur au Lac.

Our favorite restaurant in Zermatt is Walliserkane - they have a varied menu, it's reasonably priced and everything we've ever eaten there over many visits, was good.

Da Sina in Wengen has fabulous garlic soup too. We've made special trips there just for their soup (we usually visit in the winter though).

On our last few visits to Switzerland, we've just randomly picked a hotel and wandered in for lunch or dinner. We've yet to be disappointed.

There are tons of really good and expensive restaurants at all places you mention.
Good and inexpensive is a contradiction.
I suppose you know that isolated mountain restaurants are never cheap because it's not easy to transport all the stuff to these places (helicopter flights, etc.) and because fix costs must be covered during the short opening time (usually 3-4 months).

We had a wonderful meal in Wengen at https://www.baeren-wengen.ch/en/restaurant-wengen/
We stayed at the Hotel Shonegg, and their terrace is lovely. Service is wonderful.
