Oh I wish I could help you. I had one the most magical moments of my life in Oslo. We looked for a restaurant that served reindeer in the town center. The one we found was to the left of the opera house as you face the opera house. Inside it looked like Europe of the 1930s. There was a balcony with a quartet playing Mozart. The food was lovely and indeed the reindeer was delicious. It came with an elderberry sauce. It was the birthday of the king. Between the main course and the dessert all the royals of Europe came out of the opera house and into their limousines. We were able to leave and watch this precession and then return to our table. It was so wonderful because we had no idea what was going on and thus a great surprise. All the royals were done up in their finest with all the jewels. After dinner we walked to the palace. At that time you could get very close almost to the front door. But at lass I do not know the name of the restaurant. Loved Oslo and the fjords. Have a fabulous trip.

I've never been to any of these, but they serve traditional norwegian food:
Mauds, (I suspect to be overly touristy), but they serve very traditional food, even "a taste of norway" meny. http://www.mauds.no
Tollbugata 24
Lofotstua fish restaurant - always highly recomended by foodcritics. http://www.lofotstua.no/
Kirkeveien 40
Some of my friends, and my dad LOVES this place.
To have a taste of norwegian flavours, but in more like a cafe setting (NOT fancy)
Kaffistova in Rosenkrantz g 8, is an option.
