Good hotel like San Carlos??

Last year I stayed at San Carlos which was located only a few minutes walking distance from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. It was perfect and I enjoyed my stay there.
I'm now travelling on tight budget and I'm trying to find another hotel in the same area but less expensive. I think San Carlos are charging 130 euros/per night. I'd like to pay less but still be that close to everything. I'd prefer my own bathroom of course, but the size of the room doesn't matter. Do you know of anything?

HI schnookies,

In Sept 05, I stayed at Hotel Giardino Rome, a 2*. It's owned by a lovely British ex pat, Katy, and her sons. Great location on Via XXIV di Maggio, within 5 minutes walk to the Trevi.

My single room (95E/nt) was large enough, had A/C and double-paned windows, blissfully quiet. Large enough private bathroom. Typical breakfast, nothing special.

Very cosy, comfortable and Katy and her staff are very friendly and helpful. They answer e mails very promptly too!

Wish I was going! Buon viaggio!

Hotel Julia
Hotel Panda

Both will have singles for less than 130 Euros per night and aren't too far away from San Carlo. I can't say whether they will be up to your standards. I stayed at Hotel Julia and it was fine, in my opinion.

I will definitely check on The Giardino. That sounds like a very good deal and it has everything you need!
Thanks so much

I just looked at the rates for Hotel Panda and Julia, they are both affordable! And the location is great!
Thanks so much for your help
