good distillery tour in scotland?
Anyone know of a good distillery tour within driving distance of either Edinburgh or Callander? Possibly with some other "sights" along the way to make this a day trip from either city?
Thanks for your help.

There is a distillery right in Edinburgh. I visited in 1995 and we got a free shot of scotch at the end.

If it must be somthing outside of the city, I hope someone else can help.

I visited the Glengoyne distillery on a drive from Callander to Glasgow. I thought it was excellent. I also visited "The Famous Grouse Experience" at the Glenturret distillery at Crieff while staying in Callander. I thought it was cheesy, and I am now extra cautious about putting money down on anything that calls itself an "Experience". I visited the Rob Roy grave site at Balquhidder on the way.

We did the Edradour Distillery. It's right outside of Pitlochry and is the smallest in Scotland. It is run by just 3 guys....real pretty setting, nice tour & tasting, and good shop. There are some nice little villages in the area -Dunkeld, Blair Atholl w/ Blair Castle. www.edradour.co.uk
