If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all folks. The OP wanted some advice and all he is getting is a bunch of sourpuss opinions on how it is a waste of time.

Can anyone actually help him out with suggestions? If not, go write a blog or something.

laurenanne, the OP wanted an honest appraisal of his chances of seeing anything. He got one. If he wanted us to blow sunshine up his ass, he shouldn't have asked the question and asked for "suggestions".

There is quite a good map of the procession at
http://www.royalparks.gov.uk/royalweddingmap.aspx

To be honest, there doesn't seem to be a great deal of interest in it so far but it might be fun for you to mix with the crowd and watch a bit of the procession.
I think that I am not unique in wishing them well as I would do any young couple. Let's hope the tabloids will keep their claws out of them.

" The OP wanted some advice and all he is getting is a bunch of sourpuss opinions on how it is a waste of time."

His question ("anyone knows of special events") has been answered accurately.

No doubt if he'd wanted the usual Pollyannaish claptrap ("you'll LOVE it. I'm SOO envious. LOL!!!!!!") from one of the feeble-minded Fodors girlies, he'd have asked for it.

But he didn't.

Just bought 3 cups and 3 saucers of Queen Liz's coronation from 1952 for 3 pound 50 at my daughter's charity heart shop in Southampton. I quess P is right about"that stuff" that goes down in price through the years?
