Going to Paris in July

I am new to posting, so bare with me. I am going to Paris in the middle of July and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good and resonable hotel in Paris that I could stay in. I would need 2 rooms, both with 2 double beds. If anyone could help, I would be very grateful!

What range do you consider "reasonable?"

You may have better luck with budgets by having just a two person room times four.

I have never been to Paris, so I really wouldn't know where to stay. Whatever will do, just somewhere where my family and I can explore and sightsee. For my room, I just need 2 adjoining rooms with 2 double beds in each room. Thanks for the help!

Perhaps someone will be able to give you some info on Paris apartments for rent. That may be easier for the large number of beds needed.

I have also heard about renting an apartment in Paris, so I am guessing that would be in-fact better. Does anyone know of a good apartment place to rent?

I don't think you are going to easily find a hotel with 2 double beds in a room (like we find here in the States)... it will be a double, a Queen if you're lucky -or- 2 singles (twins). Exactly how many people are you getting rooms for..?

I agree with travelnut, 2 double beds would more likely be found in a luxury hotel. Your average two-bedded room in Paris will have two twins, and often these are made up separately but are pushed together with no space in between them.

Please say how many people (and in what combinations) need to be accommodated, and how much you have budgeted for lodgings each night.

Countrychick1, you don't really want us to "bare" with you, do you? Because this could turn into a very raucous posting very quickly! (Sorry, I couldn't resist. Please bear with me!)

Okay, I have rented rooms with two double beds in Paris, but they aren't particularly common and they're not necessarily the most cost-effective option. One I've used is the Holiday Inn - Paris Republique:

http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/...pardl?irs=null

It's very nice and you can forget what you may think about U.S.-style Holiday Inns, although one similarity is that it does tend toward larger rooms (especially the deluxe rooms).

Apartment rentals are certainly a possibility, but if you've been lurking the board for long, you also know that some of these involve cash payments, etc. One of the easier ways to do it is from among the selection offered by Citadines, which has properties in several locations in Paris:

http://www.citadines.com/uapa/apalist0.htm

It's no more difficult than booking a hotel room and I'm sure some people here can probably give you some reactions.

Again, it is possible that the most cost-effective approach might be to consider four double rooms because it will provide you with so many more options, but that may also depend on the specifics of who is traveling.

Have a look at a small and charming hotel in the 14th, in the area of Alesia, a shopping area not far away from Montparnasse...The hotel is called Hotel Les Jardins d'Alésia. It is a 2 star hotel where there twin rooms at about 60 euros.
You can check it on http://www.hoteljardinsalesia.com
Enjoy your trip!

If you're going in the middle of July, you may be there for Bastille Day, July 14, the French Independence Day. Wow!!!
Second, I agree you should look into renting an apartment. Sounds like you need beds for 8 people? There are loads of 2 and 3 bedroom apts, which always seem to have sofa beds, etc, for extra people. Still--7 or 8 peole in close proximity...Hmmm.
How long is your trip? That will affect your choice too. Some of the apts I've seen are actually two adjoining apartments, or apartments in the same building. As you research this, you 'll se that.
Also you cna chekc this board; search "Paris apartments" or "Paris rentals" and c heck vrbo.com
Good luck! I'll be erthere too--in an apartment--in mid July!

Thank you all your help. I am going to Paris for about three days with 5 other ladies. I think I will look into the apartments in France, that sounds like a great idea! Thank you so much for the help!

Apartments are difficult to find for less than a full week. Since there will be 6 of you, the most reasonable option may well be three small twin or double rooms.

Countrychick, if you end up going the hotel route, you might want to look into Hotel Residence Monge. Conveniently located, clean, most modern ammenities, and affordable. Just another option for you to check out.

Why would you think renting an apt would be better? You have six women and are only going to be in Paris for three days in the middle of July. An apt is silly and not even likely. You won't have AC, might have one bathroom, and many people would probably end up on futons or sofabeds. You will have to pay in advance and extra fees for deposit.

why is that so great

Well Christina, the reason I thought renting an apartment would be better was because I have heard that it would be less expensive. The people I am going with do not mind sharing bathrooms or beds and we want to keep it as, I guess, cheap as possible. I have also received information about some affordable hotels to stay in, so I am looking into that as well.
