Going to Paris at 31st of December - 5 days itinerary help
I am going to Paris at 31st December for 5 days. I have already made the following plan. Do you have any suggestions or changes about it?
31st Dec:arriving at 13.00. Going to
hotel Bastille area. Plan to
visit Marais and walk around
(e.g place de Vosges)
Then go downtown, at evening
head to Aiffel area for new
year's fireworks.
1st Jan: Early morning go up Aiffel
tower.
Then go Disneyland(?)
2st Jan: Morning Notre Dam and the
islands of Seine, walking
around Latin Quarter and
Luxemburg gardens,
early afternoon Louvre
(its Wednesday so it's closing
late), evening Arc of Triomphe
to see illuminated Champs
Elysees.
3st Jan: Morning Versailles, afternoon
shopping (heard that on
Thursdays shops close late).
4st Jan: Visit Monmarte, Bouglone
forest, night cruise in Seine
for closing.
Do you like it? I am thinking abour not going to Disneyland and doing something else inside Paris so as not to miss anything from what the city has to offer. But what? Please make suggestions. Thank you all in advance!
P.S. Some other museums to visit?

Hi V,
It will be easier to find if you spell it Tour Eiffel.
I wouldn't include Disneyland.
These threads might help you in your planning.

When you say "I" does that mean you're traveling alone? If you're not going with young children, why would you want to go to Disneyland in France?
I'd so prefer spending a day walking around Paris soaking up the ambience, than going to Disneyland!!!

You can forget the New Year's fireworks -- they don't exist. The last time there were fireworks at the Eiffel Tower on December 31st was 1999. And the last time there were fireworks ANYWHERE in Paris on December 31st was 2005 (Place de la Concorde, in support of the 2012 Olympic bid).
And why not any fireworks? Well, the weather in December in Paris can be miserable, rainy, windy, etc. The French prefer their fireworks in the summer, like most Europeans.

We'll be in Paris for only 5 days on our upcoming trip, and we're spending one day at Disneyland Paris. We're both adults, traveling with no children. If you love Disney like we do, then go and enjoy. If you're not a Disney fanatic, then do as the others say and just enjoy Paris. We could not go to Paris without going to Disneyland. We'd be kicking ourselves for years to come if we missed it.
