I need help with my Itinerarie,we have 3 weeks starting on July 18
we plan to arrive in Rome on July 18 should we stay 3 days is it enough??
leaving by train to Napoli should we stay in Napoli for a day or two or go to Sorrento we would like to relax on the beach ,we would like to see Capri too,I just don't know how many days should we stay on the Almafi coast.
I would like to see Venice too , how should we do this, leave from Rome to Venice or can we leave from the Almalfi coast by train to Venice.
Any Help would be most appreciated.

Congrats on your upcoming trip. Do you have your tickets already? It's much easier to fly into one city and leave from another. You could stay a week in each place and still need more time!

I'd stay 5 days in Rome and 5 in Venice. That leaves 6 days for Naples/Amalfi Coast and 2 days lost to travel back home.

Someone else can help with Amalfi Coast beach info. You could base in Sorrento and get to many places from there.

I'm always stunned to read posts like this - planning to leave in two weeks with absolutely no idea of their itinerary, no hotel reservations, not even plane tickets. Good luck finding anything decent still available.

If you don't already have plane tickets, look into flying into Venice and home from Naples (or the reverse) you'll mnuch more time "on the ground" that way. If not, you still have enough time in your trip to fly into and out of Rome. In which case, the order is not particularly important.

Assuming only high-speed trains: The longest train trip would be Venice to Naples at just under 7 hours. Venice to Rome just under 5 hours, and Rome to Naples just under 2 hours.

At a minimum, I would stay 5 nights in Rome and 4 nights in Venice. An extra night in each would be better.

That leaves 10 to 12 days for the Amalfi coast area. Stay a minimum of 2 nights in Naples since you will already be in the area - it's a great city well worth the time. Sorrento is a good home base for the coast area and has the beach you require. There are ferries and buses from Sorrento to the other towns along the coast as well as to Capri. Capri also has a nice beach. In fact I would go on and stay on the Isle of Capri go two nights. While it is often done as a day trip from the mainland, you have the time to do better.

Without knowing your hotel budget, it is difficult to recommend any yet for the places you'll be.
