Going to Cairo - would like to see Rome/Athens too
I'm starting to plan a trip to Cairo from Florida, maybe June or July. (First time overseas, single female travelling alone.) Main objective is to see pyramids, Sphynix, Cairo Museum, the usual tourist stuff.
One week vacation. I'd also love to see Rome and Athens - a day in each to just see the sights.
Should I really try to "do it all" or spend the week in Egypt and try for another trip in a couple of years?
Thanks in advance for any info!

Sounds like a good idea - looks like a guided tour from "Egypt Highlights" 7 days - Cairo, Luxor and Alexandria might be a good trip for me.
Any recommendations on this agency/trip?

Hi
Rome is amazing an it deserves more than a one day quick visit. In general I think people are trying to cover too much when they go on vacation but I guess it is only natural...I have tendency to do this myself. I would advice you to save Italy for another trip and focus on Egypt instead

I don't know that particular trip but I think, contrary to the usual ethos on this board, Egypt is a place where it is a good idea to take an organised tour if you're a single woman. The amount of attention you get as a woman walking around alone - even when you dress appropriately - gets wearing and I expect this would be less of a problem in a group.

It's good that you agree staying in Egypt is the way to go. It would have taken you half a day travel time between each city (Cairo, Athens, Rome, Cairo) when you factor in all the security/check in/out and transport -- leaving you barely 5 days for three countries.
Now you should post your questions about tours to Egypt on the Africa forum.
