Giverny in October

I will be in Paris in October and would like to visit Giverny - will there be anything in bloom?
Or does that not matter as it is wonderful to visit anytime?

Thanks!

It does matter. When in Oct. I would be much happier with mid April through Sept - but early Oct may be OK.

We visited Monet's garden and house around the second week of October three years ago and there were still lots of pretty flowers blooming and the lily pond was gorgeous. (We could see by looking at the pond why Monet was so obsessed with colors and reflections.) Others might be able to give you more specific information.

We were there in late October. While the blooms weren't as magnificent as would have been in season, there were hardly any people there. We were there the last week it was open for the season. I have pictures of the bridge over the lily pond lake with NO ONE on the bridge. I'll see if I can find some pics to post.

We visited Monet's Gardens early last November. Although not in full bloom, the setting is still perfect, especially without the crush of the crowds (iberiantraveler.com/Haute_Normandie.pdf). Expect it to be raining from time to time, but we didn't mind it at all, just like Seattle weather.

Dahlias! lots and lots of them - we were there last Oct., I think fairly early in the month and it was lovely. The water lilies were about finished but it was still a very pleasant outing. I think another poster put the official link - it will tell you what is in bloom when you plan to visit.

It works now - try http://iberiantraveler.com/Haute_Normandie.pdf

The internet can be touchy at times!

We were there in April, a bucket list visit for me. One suggestion that I would like to make in the strongest way possible is to get there first thing in the AM and rush, run, fly, jump over obstacles but get to the pond ASAP. Everyone wants their pic on the bridge and extremely difficult. Visit is wonderful and hope you a fab time.
