Getting to Boom festival Castelo Branco

My son is arriving 11pm to Lisbon airport and wants to get to Castelo Branco for Boom festival as soon as possible. Any chance of a night train or bus? He doesn't want to spend time and money on lodging that night if possible. We are having trouble understanding the bus and train websites. He won't be there on the days of the Boom bus transfer.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

This is the right place for your question. Did you look at the festival site where there is bus and train info.

What schedules did you use that you're having trouble with?

You should also post on the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree forum.

There is a train leaving Oriente station at 23 minutes after midnight but there is a 6 hour transfer in Entroncamento so that won't help him. Can't he get a cheap hotel/hostel for the night and leave the next morning?
