Germany in June
I will be attending a conference in Dresden in June I would like my husband to meet me and travel across the south for a week. I am really interested in the castles, the beer, and the beautiful scenery.
What cities and sites would you suggest?
p.s. we are huge football fans so being in a city at the same time as the world cup is just an added bonus!

I would recommend Radeberger beer (Dresden), Koenigstein castle (S of Dresden) and hiking in the Saxony Switzerland / Bastei area (near Koenigstein).
You won't find better beer, a more impressive fortress/castle, or more beautiful, underexpored (by foreign tourists) scenery in Southern Germany.

In response to the first poster. I will be in Dresden for a week alone so I will want to see as many sights as possible. After that we would like to see as much of South Germany as possible. It will be our first trip there!
