Genoa day excursion ideas
We will be in port from 7 AM-9PM on June 13. Prefer to not do a cruise ship excursion. I checked out a number of tours with various companies, but have not made it a decision, yet. Has anyone recently taken a tour in Genoa that they would recommend? We want to do something more informative than hop on/hop off. Thanks!

Why can't you just explore the city on your own. I went to Genoa as a day trip from Milan a couple years ago and had a great day just exploring the streets and neighborhoods and waterfront area. There is apparently a great aquarium that I didn't have time for but you might. Get a couple of guide books and put together a 'walk' of your own. Here's my photos of the city from that day trip - https://andiamo.zenfolio.com/p923350972

Agree - Genoa is easily explored in a few hours on foot on your own. We spent a night there to break journey before heading onwards to the Cinque Terre few years ago. The historic centre is quite compact (around via Garibaldi) and we enjoyed strolling around the marina (Porto Antico area and the Aquarium) - also enjoyed some nice views from the Spianata Castelletto.

As said ab ove: a visit of historic Genoa (with palaces and cathedral) and of the Museo del Mare and the Aquarium can well take a whole day. You may also go by rope railway to viewpoint Righi or walk along the seashore promenade to Nervi.
A train/boat ride to Camogli and San Fruttuoso monastery (linked with Portofino by a easy hiking trail) could be another idea.
