Geneva to Croatia Quickly - any ideas

Hello,
My husband and I have flights booked to and from Geneva (from Canada), arriving May 5 and departing May 22. We had been planning to spend the majority of our time in Italy and Switzerland but since doing research, have become very interested in visiting Croatia. We do not want to spread ourselves to thin and so were considering trying to take flights from Geneva to Croatia and spending all of our 2.5 weeks there. I've been doing some checking online, however and it doesn't seem like it is very easy to fly from Switzerland to Croatia.

Am I missing something or would we simply be better to use this trip for Switzerland/Italy and plan for our next trip to be in Croatia?

Thanks so much for your time

Caitie

There may be other possibilities, but EasyJet fly from Geneva to Split and Dubrovnik, though only once a week in May.

There's no direct ferry link from Venice to Split, but Ancona would be an option by train.

Since you already bought the plane ticket, I'd stick with your original plan. And next time go to Croatia directly.

I concur---skip Croatia and go back when you have 10 days just for it.

Thank you to all for the very detailed information. I had missed the easy jet flights to Split from Geneva. I hadn't worked things out quite as cleanly as neckervd but the train and other plane itineraries that I had found were similar. I think in the end we will stick with Italy and, as suggested, return to Croatia for another trip.

Thanks again for your insights.

It is not difficult, you just need to make a connection (usually through Vienna or Munich ). Fares appear to be around $336 round trip. I just plugged dates into Expedia and there are several airlines.
We liked Croatia Airlines and flew into Split and out of Zagreb.
I think only you can decide where you want to go. Have you been to Switzerland and Italy?
If not, I would stick with your original plan.
