Geneva & Lausanne: Left Luggage at Train Stations
The plan is to arrive in Lausanne by TGV from Paris and leave our stuff at the train station for a few hours while we see a bit of the city before resuming our rail trip further into Switzerland. Likewise on the return trip we would like to make a quick stop to see a bit of Geneva before taking the train to the Geneva airport. Can anybody confirm that there are left luggage facilities at these train stations? If so how do they work...do we need specific coins etc.?

Hi Gavin,
Sorry, I don't know from personal experience at these particular stations, but I'm very sure they both have left luggage facilities. These are very big train stations, and most stations, even much smaller, have left luggage.
The lockers usually operate on 1-franc coins, but you may need two coins for larger lockers.
Good luck!

They both have coin operated lockers (3-4 sizes/different prices) and accept 1, 2, 5 francs coins. It's been some time since I used one last but the smallest locker should cost CHF4.00. There is also an attended counter at both stations.

And to me they are not "very big stations". I even consider them rather small stations. Of course I compare them to those in Paris, Tokyo, etc. Even the main station of Zurich seems huge compared to that of Geneva and Lausanne.
