Garmisch Hotel?

Hi,
My family (three of us) are taking a trip up to Germany next month, and we're planing on spending a few days in Garmisch. We've found a few hotels, but we'd like to hear reviews and recomendations. Thanks!
-Eric

Partenkirchner Hof in center of town is terrific. Post Hotel Partenkirchen looks good too. The Alpina by Bahnhof has had several previous names and may be showing some wear but it has a great pool with views out to the Zugspitze. Have never stayed at the Fruendorfer but have eaten there and found it very friendly. Would guess that rooms are warm, cozy and very Bavarian.

We stayed last year in Grainau, a suburb, at the Hotel Alpenhof. Very nice rooms and a beautiful restaurant. Good breakfast buffet.

I can vouch for the Gasthof Fraundorfer in Partenkirchen being very Bavarian. In the evening they have a genuine Bavarian kind of evening in their restaurant - yodeling, dancing the whole works.

The last time I was in Garmisch I stayed at the Hotel Bernriderhof. If you take the more expensive rooms at the front of the chalet-like hotel, you will have a fantastic view of the Alps. In the morning you will awaken to cow bells as the local cattle are driven to the fields on the road in front of the hotel. The rooms are all very brightly furnished, so you never feel depressed, as you might in a Viennese accomodation. Garmisch is so small you can walk everywhere. Ciao.

Last year my husband and I stayed at the Frauendorfer. Fabulous experience! They gave us the bridal suite, and at a very reasonable rate. We had dinner both nights there, food was good, and there was a little band. Alot of fun.

The Hotel Hilleprandt is located in Garmisch in a quiet neighborhood near the town of Garmisch. The rooms on the first floor, #1 or #2, have patios that open on to the back yard. Very nice place and includes breakfast. We have stayed there a few times.

The Partenkirchen Post Hotel also nice. We stayed there in November, but it is more like a large hotel than the Hilleprandt. The restaurant area in the Post is beautiful though as is the separate bar area.

We too have stayed at the Hotel Hiltenbrandt and loved it! Charming, quaint and a great breakfast and in walking distance of everything.
