How big an area around Garmisch are you interested in? Right in Garmisch, or within 5 miles, 25 miles, 50 miles?

We stayed at a B&B about 6 years ago called Hotel Hilleprandt at Riffelstrasse 17. It was great. The rooms were much like lofts and the owner was very welcoming. I highly recommend it. Also, the rates were very reasonable.

We stayed in Fussen at Hotel Alisabeth run by nearly 80-year old Elisabeth, who had wonderful, charming B&B - and a lot of insight of the war. Fussen is just 2 miles from the castles at Neuschawanstein and Hohenschwangau - and very lose to a lot of eateries.

We have also stayed at the HOTEL HILLEPRANDT in Garmisch three of four times. Nice place, good location, breakfast included. Ask for Room #1 or #2. They are both downstairs with no stairs to climb and have patios that open to the nice backyard area. Rooms are very nice size and furnishings well done.

I love the hotel Sonnenbichl in Garmisch. Nice people, heated pool, great breakfast in a beautiful building. And very large rooms.
