We've decided to travel from Dijon to Paris on the day before out flight departs from CDG. We had the option of taking a TGV directly from Dijon to CDG on the morning of the flight, but decided that option was too risky.

We're staying at the Hotel Terminus near Gare Lyon. My question: what is the best way to get to CDG from there early the following morning? I have searched for answers on this site: TGV direct from Gare Lyon to CDG, Air France Bus, taxi, RER, etc.

Any insight re: these modes?

We'll be leaving via USAirways, (which is in Terminal ???) and does that impact the method of getting to the airport?

USAirways leaves from Terminal 1, and I agree about it being risky going from Dijon to CDG the morning of the flight. I would probably either take a taxi or the private shuttle, Shuttle-Inter, which many of us on this forum have used. www.shuttle-inter.com
Check it out; it's 55 euro for up to three people, and a taxi will run you that much, and more, if you'd happen to get stuck in traffic.

You say "early the following morning" What time is the flight? 11:30 looks to be U.S. Airways earliest departure, and that isn't really an early by Europe to North American flight.

There really isn't a whole lot to say about insights or anything. US Airways in T1 doesn't impact anything, any method will get you to the airport. Some methods cost more than others, others offer more privacy than others, etc. It is ultimately a matter of personal preference.

Your hotel is optimally located for the more "cost efficient" transportation methods. Gare de Lyon is stop for the AF bus. Alternatively the station is one stop away from a transfer to RER B at Châtelet. Either one of those options would be my choice.

I would take the Air France shuttle. It's easier than dealing with the RER and it's relatively cheap - about 11-12 euro.

If I took the RER, I'd avoid Châtelet by going to Gare du Nord on Ligne D and changing to B there.

It's just up to you as to what appeals to you. I'd also take the Air France bus, the stop is right in front of the gare, after all. If the RER were direct from there, I'd take that, but it isn't.

I would definitely take the Air France Bus, which I have done many times. I have always gone to Terminal 2, though - don't know anything about Terminal 1. The AF Bus probably makes a stop there, but I don't know.

I assume that: AF Bus, Air France Shuttle and Air France Bus all refer to the same thing. I see that it goes to all Terminals at CDG. Can I buy tickets from the driver upon departure from Gare Lyon?

The AF bus is labeled "Les Cars Air France." It is a big white one you can't miss. An attendant will put your luggage in the belly of the beast. Pay the driver as you board. There are several routes so check the signage at the stop and check the bus number and destination above the front window before you board. IIRC the bus to Montparnasse also stops at Gare de Lyon. I paid €15 in December to Gare Montparnasse but Robespierre's price is probably correct as of now. I recommend the AF bus for convenience and piece of mind.

Oops, I just noticed that you are going to CDG from Gare de Lyon. Forget about the different routes. It's a no brainer from the city to CDG.
