There is a hotel in Eze, Chateau Eza, that is most secluded - and has the most spectacular views. It is situated about half way between Monte Carlo and Nice. Even if you don't stay there you must visit Eze.

Cap Ferrat is very nice, also very posh, but excellent proximity to Nice (fifteen minutes by bus or car) and Monaco ( by train or car). It has one sandy beach along the main road, and a lovely small town at the harbor which is full of galleries, boutiques and sea food restaurants. Just depends what kind of traveller you are. Do you prefer secluded places like Eze or places where there's more people and things to do like Nice or Monaco?

go to LHW.COM, check out the royal riviera in cap ferrat. great location just a minutes walk from the marina. the AFRICAN QUEEN restaurant is casual but chic, great pizza, pasta and seafood. worth the $$$

Cap Ferrat is nice but some like to be closer to Monaco. If you drive to Monaco, you can park free for 60 minutes in the city garages but beware that the clock in the exits are sometimes a bit faster than the entrance. So you must leave after about 52 minutes unless you want to pay. If you pay, they do not give you a free 60 minutes because you have to pay for the entire time.

The town of Biot is interesting. There is a town with the Matisse chapel but its opening hours are limited. There is a French sign that say not to insist to see the paintings if they are closed.

I liked staying in Nice because it is centrally located, unlike Cap Ferrat.

Cap Ferrat is probably more chic than Nice, though.

The African Queen is in Bealieu sur Mer, down in the harbor. There are two very nice ****hotels nearby, La Reserve and Le Metropole. We prefer the latter.
