French language quiz

Name a word that contains three of the letter 'e' in a row. (Remember: you agreed that it looks weird to anglophones.)

Excellent. (Didn't fall for the "you agreed" (agréée) bait, eh?)

This could be a fun game to play.
Who can think of a French word that contains all 5 vowels?

(conjugations of verbs accepted)
(and there's a clue in this post)

I didn't get your clue, but aperiodique contains all five vowels in order

Oh, and aperiodique and anticonstitutionnel(lement) are better answers than mine too!

Does anyone know a word in French which is masculine in the singular but feminine in the plural?

You have to add an adjective to notice the gender has changed.
You won't know with only "un orgue, des orgues" but if you say "un grand orgue, des grandEs orgues"
"un grand amour, des amours éterneLLEs"
Well done everyone!

Hmmmm.

French men have one organ, but French women have two organs?

Hi Ira
The word for these organs is organes which is always masculine, "un organe féminin". L'orgue is a musical instrument.
