Send them to La Colombe d'Or in St-Paul-de-Vence, a medieval perched village. The hotel is known for the many pieces of art given to the hotel's owner in the days when the artists couldn't afford their room and board. It's now a fine collection.

In Cassis, some of the restaurants at Port area look nice, with view. But I ate only at the following place mainly because of the view from their terrace. I ate their 3 times at 3 different stays but still can't remember the excat name (!) It's someting like café/restaurant des arts or des artistes. It is also pizzeria and not expensive. Local mediteranean (more of fish/sea food) and a bit Italy influenced dishes. Food is fine but I love the view of the port, the castle, and the dominating Cap Canaille behind. Sitting there from around Sunset and watcing Cap Canaille change it's color till dark is quite nice and I would say romantic too. After dark, the place is not too brigtly lit and their tables at the narrow terrace are only for couples (no 4-person table) so it gives intimate feeling sittitng there only two of you. Two weeks ago when I was there was also full moon so the moon over the Cap was another nice memory. It's no gourmet/expensive place though.

Location : Stand in the middle of the quay facing the beach/sea, the castle hill on your left, walk tho your right along, turning left and go all the way till the end of the quay street, close to the light house. 2 minutes walk.

I just got back from Monaco two weeks ago, there was a great cafe across from the casino called Cafe Paris. Sit outside.

We were in Monte Carlo two weeks ago and had a special dinner at our hotel terasse restaurant "Vistamar" with the dramatic view of the La Condamine port below us. It's a Michelin star restaurant costing half of the Alain Ducasse's Louis VX (Hotel de Paris)which is just a block away. If your friends are staying in Monte Carlo, this may be more practical for them. I'm sure you can pre-arrange your dinner gift by fax/phone. HOTEL HERMITAGE Tel:011-377-92161100 Fax 011-377-92163852

The next day we had breakfast in the hilltop perched village of Eze at the Chateau d'Eze and found it to be equally dramatic & even more romantic. I found an internet picture of the hotel restaurant: verseguru.com/media/?20030824_01347/
Their service may not be as flawless, but their set menu is a bargain at 37/47 euro per person considering that they charge 35 euro for breakfast. www.chateaueza.com/menu.php
I hope you can find the ideal restaurant for your gift.

Thanks, for all of your suggestions. I printed them off and included them in a gift bag along with some money for the honeymooners.
