Coco, the reason for the "Côte d'Or" name is because of the former colony "Gold Coast" -- now Ghana.
Fans of the brand should know that it is now owned by Philip Morris (cough cough). (Côte d'Or bought by Suchard in 1987, Suchard bought by Philip Morris in 1990.)

After eating too many croissants, eclairs, gaufres, and religeuses during my Brussels/Paris trip 2 weeks ago, I was going to wait until after the new year to dip into the stash of chocolate I brought back, but after reading this thread, they may start disappearing much sooner! Six bars of my favorite Poulain 86% noir, 1 Poulain "Noir Noisettes a la Truffe et aux pepites a l'Orange," 2 expensive bars from Pierre Marcolini ("Chocolat au Cafe: mariage entre la force d'un bon cafe et la douceur d'un excellent chocolat," 72%), one Michel Cluizel Noir aux Ecorces d'Orange, 60%), and one Dolfin Noir aux Ecorces d'Orange Confites, and a little tin of Langues de Chat.
While there, we tried Cote d'Or's new Pistache flavor, but it didn't taste as great as I expected (I love pistachios). Anybody know of any other good chocolates with pistachios?
