Frankfurt Hotel for Stop-Over
Last fall several of you helped me plan an overnight stopover in Frankfurt (enroute to South Africa), and my husband and I had a great time in Mainz and seeing some of the Rhine valley.
Now a friend is going to South Africa in early May, and she has a 16 hour stopover in Frankfurt. She would dearly love to get a nap before going on to South Africa since she doesn't sleep well on planes. I vaguely remember seeing something about a hotel near the Frankfurt airport that would allow someone to book a partial day or something for just this kind of situation. Can anyone help me find this information for her? She would want to use a taxi or hotel shuttle rather than dealing with the train.
Hope you can help. Thanks!

Thanks for the input. A reviewer on Expedia mentions that a day stay is an option at the Sheraton but I don't see anything about it on the Sheraton website. Have just sent off an email inquiry to them.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

I don't think there is a hotel at the airport that you can book for a day. There are a few hotels near the airport that she could book for less than $100 (The Sheraton is pretty expensive - but convenient.)
One time I stayed in a Courtyard that offered a shuttle to/from the airport that was handy.
(Some people find an out-of-the-way spot at the airport and sleep.)

Since she is traveling by herself and counting the weeks or months to retirement, I don't think she would opt for sleeping in an out of the way spot at the airport but I will keep looking into options for her.
Thanks!
Thanks!
