Be careful of the Accor chain if you think you might have to cancel your reservation for some reason.
I'm in the middle of a 2 week effort to cancel a room in Amsterdam. The cancellation page did not work--tried both through the Accor and Ibis websites. Gave me a message that the system could not find a reservation with our Res #, please contact hotel directly.
So I faxed the hotel directly, and promptly received a verification of my reservation even though I put cancel in bold and with Dutch translation.
Found another place on the Accor website that you could use to get a confirmation of your cancellation--filled that out on Wednesday and haven't heard anything back.
Called them on Friday but got put on hold and was cut off twice.
I'm keeping all the emails in case I have to contest charges in the future.

RufusT.. I wont be booking anything in advance.. waiting till/if we get there, but thanks for the warning. That sounds like a huge hassle! I really hope you get it straightened out. Good idea to keep all the emails.
