Frankfurt Airport to Zurich

Hello Everybody,

I will arrive Frankfurt Airport on the 8th April morning (about 6:00am).

Can you tell me the fastest and the most convenient way to Zurich by Train?

Hope you can help me.

Thanks.

Gavin

Go to www.sbb.ch and you can search for schedules. It will take about 4 hours and will involve a connection somewhere - it looks like connecting through Basel is fastest.

I use the www.bahn.de German rail site for schedules for all of europe - here is the schedule you will want

Best connections leave airport at 6:54 and 7:54 and take about 4 hours to Zurich main station (HB) - one change at Basel - get to info on the change click on details for the above on the schedule i link you to

fare is about 90 euros in 2nd class.

Note Frankfurt (M) Flughafen Fernbf is the long-distance train station right in the airport - there is also a Lokal Bahnhof, nearer to the terminals and is the old station now mainly for local trains in the Frankfurt area.

You can easily buy this ticket upon arrival IME - could buy it on the bahn.de site too and have an open ticket, i believe, you can use on any train to Zurich.

Yes it's very easy to find - about a ten-minute walk and down and up perhaps some escalators - get free luggage carts in the arrivals area.

Follow signs for Fernbanhof

Thanks a lots.

I checked the time-table and it is very concise and useful.
Actually, I will go to Luzern, but not Zurich.

Luzern is 30 mins from Zurich but i believe you would change at Olten from Basel - but the schedule shows it all - click on show all details

and then click on show intermediate stops to see all the stops the train makes

but better just put Frankfurt Flug Fern to Lucerne in original search box.

Hello palenque,

thanks.

Can you tell me more about the Airport? Can I find a good place so that I can enjoy a good breakfast?

Any delicious food that sells in the Airport?

Thank you very much.

To get to the Fernbahnhof, go to the hall of Terminal 1, then up to the 2nd floor mezannine (LH side of the hall as you look at the street). Go across the pedestrian bridge over the access road and follow the hallway through the building out to the Fernbahnhof.
