LOl....I don't think people here on the east coast wear such bright colors, on average, as Florida and LA. If you go to the go fug yourself (celebrity fashion photos)
you can see what horrible taste they have when a wardrobe person who makes them classy on screen aren't there. Ex. Gweneth Palthrow.

I was there in the sumer and saw all kinds of colors and all kinds of clothes. No one color or type of dress stuck out at all.

NYCTS- I needed my laugh for the day. SO, true, if Naomi were wearing the pink or green or any other, non-black, color I bet it would then be "just fine" and folks would be running over themselves to try to imitate.
I'm one to wear whatever color I so choose. Happy Travels!

As far as color and patterns, well they do come out in the spring, so I guess people shouldn't wear them, at anytime, so that it doesn't possibly interfere with photographing Notre Dame in the background. So, let's just wear black and drab colors all year! Smiles. Happy Travels!

<<imagine taking a photo of Notre Dame with a hideous pink or lime green tourist standing directly in front of it.>>

Kerouac,

For a minute I thought you were talking about the tourists in my Notre Dame photo (5th one), but they're in blue and (medium) green. Anyway, even pink and lime beats white T-shirts which overexposes photos.

And that shot in Shindler's children, in black and white with that unexpexted child in red was
a bolt!

"white T-shirts...overexposes photos"

Easy to fix: Allow your "Spot Metering Circle" to take a reading on any object next to the white t-shirt but not on the white. If you're using Auto Focus, be sure the non-white object is on the same plane as the subject of your image, otherwise, use manual focus. Never meter on anything white when an image has an abundance of color variation.

Here in Europe, black is regarded as a "cool" and elegant colour.

Many architects, artists, copywriters and intellectuals wear nothing else but black. On parties, you can easily spot them by their black attire (I mean everything is black: shoes, trousers, jacket, shirt and - if they wear it - tie).

On previous visits, I have seen lots of black, brown, red (bright and dark) but rarely navy coats, oddly enough.

Its not just France.
But it's available on any high street.

Have the fashion trendy Paris female cops ditched their blue snazzy blue uniforms for black?

Several Parisian policewomen in this photo:

Perhaps you were thinking of the meter maids?
