Four Days...Seville or Madrid?
I will be in Malaga, Spain for a week in June and then I have four nights to kill before meeting my brother in Lisbon, Portugal. Trying to sort out what to do for those four days....Should I do Seville or Madrid or both? Or...should I go up and do Porto in Portugal? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I like big cities and great museums so I would rather spend time in Madrid , but Seville is closer to Malaga and worth a few days.
you might consider taking a train from Malaga - stops in Cordoba first ( you could stay a day in Cordoba )- than continue to Seville.
Going to Granada would be by bus ( a few hours)from either Malaga or Seville.

well, how do you intend to get to Lisbon, that might make a difference. Because Seville is obviously more on the way and that would make more sense logitically if nothing else, most likely (assuming train). But I don't know the latest rail lines in Spain, but I dont' think there is a high speed line between Madrid and Lisbon.
I like them both, they are just different and have different attractions and feelings. If you want world class museums, you go to Madrid. I think Seville is great for four days, also, it just depends what you and the logistics, I think.
No, I would never do both, that sounds impossible to me, so maybe you have some super fast way of getting between all these places. I think Seville is the obvious choice. But if you want a change from Andalusia, go to Madrid.

Not a big museum lover so I definitely wouldn't go there for the museums. I am planning on flying to Lisbon but if I go to Seville I may take the bus. Will look into Seville! Thanks for the tips

Here you'll find lots of info about wonderful Sevilla:

Knowledgeable tapas bar/restaurant guide to one of the nicest tapas scenes in Spain. District by district. Make sure to go to Triana on the other side of the river Guadalquivir, the Arenal area close to the bullring and the San Lorenzo/Alameda north of the famous Santa Cruz district to get a closer feel of the local atmosphere: http://azahar-sevilla.com/sevilletapas/

We were faced with similar predicament 2 years back. We needed to pick a city for 4 days after our stay in Barcelona and before our stay in Lisbon.
We narrowed down to Madrid & Seville and finally we went with Seville coz Madrid's main draw apart from being a big city were Museums however Seville was just fantastic with variety of choices. Amazing historical sights, fantastic scenery just outside the city (white villages etc.) or nice day trips to granada, ronda etc. and a nice cultural scene within the city. It's one of my favourite cities in Europe.
Will strongly recommend Seville (but remmeber I have not been to Madrid yet.)
