Dear Enough,
I WAS ASKED BY OTHER PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM TO LET THEM KNOW HOW THIS TURNED OUT. THAT IS ALL I AM DOING. SORRY YOU GOT OUT ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE BED. IF YOU DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR ANY MORE ABOUT THIS, WHY DID YOU GO INTO THIS POSTING? THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY EGO--I'M A PH.D. AND PUBLISHED WRITER AND ARTIST, SO DON'T NEED THIS FOR MY EGO. I POSTED TO TRY TO BE HELPFUL. WHY DID YOU BOTHER POSTING, BUSTER?

xxx--The original time to pick-up the car was at noon, but the overnight train from Barcelona was cancelled and they had stated in the contract they would stay open later.

Well, as I mentioned. Thanks to American Express, it turned out OK. Thanks to everyone who has been supportive. I know most people at Fodor are (with the exception of a few jerks.)

Then you'll know all about critics. It's never pleasant, but the rain, it cometh every day, alas.

y, thanks, you're right--I'm used to criticism, but usually it's not quite so mean spirited. Most of the people at Fodors are so helpful and positive--it's unfortunate not everyone functions in that frame of mind and with an open heart. The world would certainly be a better place if they did!
Best wishes,
Paula

Paula, you're a PhD and you get upset because someone at Hertz didnt do the overtime and waited up for you. The fact that you complain non-stop and advertise the fact that you're a PhD successful writer artist blah blah just shows how self-centred you are.

You should've known that the particular hertz office didnt like you picking up the car after hours. Go to another agency.

Btw what you had is hardly a nightmare. Dont dramatise it.

I was initially grateful for her message of warning. But when she went on and on and started griping over such a small matter it just showed me how small minded she was.I mean, wanting to claim $200 for 1/4 tank petrol, a few local calls and time-wasting! how calculative can you get.

Paula,
I've had trouble with Hertz too, and also received no satisfaction.

Ignore the last posters--they obviously can't even read! You're right--most people on this board try to be helpful and aren't so negative. By being so, these people are showing how UGLY they are.
