Flying from Paris to Barcelona then Barc. to Rome..Better plan than trains?

2 adults, 3 teens decided to change from Paris, Munich, Rome to Paris, Barcelona, Rome (a little beach time in between history) How much time do we need to get to the airports, checked in etc.?

It depends on the airline, but it is usually 1'5-2 hours before the flight. I always go two hours before, sometimes I have time to have a coffee..sometimes I have to go direct to the boarding gate without a minute to spare. I wouldn't risk to do it in less time, security lines use to be long these days.

with this in mind do you think it is more enjoyable to take a train from Paris to Barcelona? It looks like a flight to rome is definately better but not sure about Paris to Barcelona.

www.vueling.com
www.clickair.com
paris-cdg.

vueling leaves from cdg, and clickair from orly.

the overnight train is not a bad idea if you can get reduced price tickets.

I assume Vueling, etc., uses BCN and not a nearby airport, right?
