Flying Air One From Brindisi To Milan

Has anyone booked a flight using Air One website from the US?
I am planning at doing so for September (it's half the price that of Travelocity for the same exact flight) and there was only one way for delivery method - it says "Pick Up: Aeroporto".

Anybody knows if there are issues when booking and flying this way?

Thank you.

Hi Taylor-made.

I booked a similar internal flight with Air One (Rome to Palermo). By delivery method, do you mean tickets? Air One code shares with Lufthansa, so you MAY find you'll need to pick up tickets from Lufthansa's desk, if Air One doesn't have its own (very small airline).

We very foolishly (I blame my partner) thought our tickets were e-tickets, and turned up at the desk waving an email they'd sent us that originally confirmed our booking. It's been so long since anyone sent me paper tickets for a european flight that it didn't occur to me that they had actually posted the tickets to my home in London (said partner opened the envelope, put it in a drawer and promptly forgot about it).

Apparently Air One don't DO e-tickets, so we were sent to the Lufthansa desk to beg for reprints. They refused and instead sold us new tickets. The flight was full, but of course there were 2 free seats because they were ours. GRRRR! Our fault, I know, but they were not very helpful.

Apart from that, the flight was like any other.

Hi Kate,

I bought airone tickets online in March for a mid - June flight, so will I be recieving tickets from them in the mail? Is this what you meant by they "posted" them to you?

I cannot pick them up at the airport?

I just wanted to confirm - thanks!

My Air One experience ,while ultimately successful, was problematic. I did receive and amazingly retain our paper tix. However Air One changed the time 3 times in a month, cancelled them once which Travelocity assisted me in re-issuing but in the end we were instructed to get to the airport early because w/ all the changes they'd have to be reissued. We ran from Air One to BA to Alitalia and back again in an effort to straighten e-thing out because Air One had transferred us to Alitalia. Then we were nearly refused seats on Alitalia but did finally fly and graciously enough our luggage also traveled with us, so it was super cheap but also super stressful. Good luck!

Thank you for your replies.

With your (Kate's) reply, now I am not clear as to whether they will mail the tickets to my home here in NYC. After all, as I stated in my original post, there was only one option in their online booking page (i.e. "Pick Up: Aeroporto&quot.

Hence, I will just take it to mean exactly what they stated in their online booking form – that, if I don’t receive any tickets in the mail before I leave for Puglia in September, I will then have to assume that our tickets (e-tickets or otherwise) will be waiting for us at their counter (or Lufthansa’s counter) in Brindisi airport.

Taylor-made, when you book they'll send you an email confirming the booking, so I guess that gives you the opportunity to send them a reply, asking how you'll get the tickets. Though it DOES sound as if you'll be collecting them at the airport.

Where are you going in Puglia? Today I've just had an offer accepted on a villa there that I want to buy. Wayhey!

LoveItaly, yes, they were posted to us in the UK. Couldn't say if it's normal practice.

Kate:
Congratulations with your purchase! It would be nice to have a resident expert in Puglia, especially since there's hardly any threads in this board about the region.

It'll be our first time in Puglia and we will be based in Lecce for 4 days. We look forward to doing driving daytrips to the coasts (Gallipoli and Otranto), as well as in Central Puglia (Martina Franca, Ostuni, Alberobello, etc.).

You'll love it. I know Ostuni particularly well - they have some fantastic bars, restaurants and hip hotels there nowadays. Let me know if you want any hot tips..
