Fly Maastricht to Vienna
I'm calling on your expertise again - I'm trying to find out if it is possible to fly from Maastricht to Vienna. So far, Google searches either can't answer the question, or say I can only purchase tickets from USA. As I live in Australia, this isn't much use to me!
Is anyone able to assist?
Many thanks, Di

There aren't any scheduled flights from Maastricht or Aachen/Maastricht to Vienna that I know of. The closest airport where you could catch a flight is probably Eindhoven, but that would require awkward changes (that is, flying to London or Paris first) and for a one-way flight, it's not cheap.
Your other options are direct flights on "regular" airlines from Amsterdam, Brussels or Dusseldorf. Or you could go to Cologne/Bonn and catch a budget flight from there (www.whichbudget.com)
It might be possible to fly from Maastricht to Berlin-Schoenefeld (sp) and from there to Vienna, but again, awkward scheduling and that would involve changing aircraft at least twice.
P.S. Expedia.com makes you start with flights in the U.S. Expedia.co.uk lets you start with flights in Europe. There are other flight search sites that let you start outside the U.S. and purchase tickets as well.

Good luck with your travel plans. If flying from Maastricht is a lot more expensive than flying straight from A'dam, you might best be served catching a train up to Schiphol airport. The total time involved traveling that way probably won't be significantly longer than the Maastrich+A'dam flight combo.
By the way, I just returned from two weeks in Vienna (+3 days in Krakow) and had a great time.
