Florence/Tuscany
Hello,
I have searched a multitude of websites, and I really need some suggestions for accomodations in Florence & Italy.

In Florence, I am looking for something around $100 - $150 a night, preferably right in the city. Also, I have heard Fiesole is lovely, and I would love some suggestions there as well.

In Tuscany, I found Villa Vignamaggio, and I understand it is wonderful, but I was looking to spend a little bit less but stay in the same area between Florence and Siena. I was also recommended La Spinosa. Has anyone ever been there?

THANKS so much for any recommendations!!
Try www.chiantiturismo.it We stayed at CastelBigozzi which is near Monteriggioni, and close enough for daytrips all over chianti country, San G, Siena, etc. If the search engine is working here, search on Florence Hotels and you should get lots of suggestions.

Have you looked at these? I believe they would be in your price range and although I can personally vouch for Hotel Bellettini, I have friends who have stayed at Hotel Casci, La Residenza and Morandi Alla Crocetta.

Hotel Bellettini
Via de Conti 7, Florence, Italy
Phone: 011-39-55-21-35-61
Fax: 011-39-55-28-35-51

Hotel Casci
Via Cavour 13, Florence 50129, Italy
Phone: 055/211686
Fax: 055/239-6461

La Residenza
Via Tornabuoni 8, Florence 50123, Italy
Phone: 055/218684
Fax: 055/284197

Morandi Alla Crocetta
Via Laura 50, Florence 50121, Italy
Phone: 055/234-4747
Fax: 055/2480954

Happy hunting!
We stayed at the Piti Palace Hotel. Terrific, affordable, less then 1/2 block from the Ponte Vecchio bridge, about 3 blocks from the Piti Palace and Boboli Gardens. Rooms are large compared to most, large fully equiped bathrooms. Rooftop restaurant/bar where you can have your breakfast, which is included, and enjoy the spectacular view of the Duomo etc.

I would recommend Lamandria (www.lamandria.it)- it's near Fivizzano and Aulla - it has accommodations for rent and they are lovely. I stayed there recently and never wanted to leave. Weather is gorgeous, quiet clean comfortable, and they have a gorgeous secluded infinity pool that looks down over the valley. Oh yes, and the prices are VERY reasonable too.
