florence trip status
I am currently in florence enjoying the city. points to ponder though, driving in the city is comparable to paris,it sucks. we have to pay 25 euros a day for parking.
hotels usually expand the truth about amenities. if they have a good breakfast, that usually start your day off well, look for an american style breakfast, otherwise you will get the usuall fair, bread, cheese, milk cereal. I am still hungry when i left. expect all the tcns(third country nationals) to be selling there stuff everywhere. enough for now.

I am leaving for Florence next week!!! I booked the Hotel Continental for 1 week. Is that enough time for Florence? Can you suggest any great restaurants? Also, since I am a fashionista, how are the women dressed? Also, how is the weather?

Dear George,
You didn't care much for Rome or Paris, either.
>...look for an american style breakfast, otherwise you will get the usuall fair, bread, cheese, milk cereal.<
Ah yes, "when in Florence do as the Americans do".

Hi lawyer630
>....1 week. Is that enough time for Florence?
Makes for a nice visit. You can also visit Siena if you wish.
>Can you suggest any great restaurants?
Try Il Ritrovo
Via de? Pucci 4/A
Best food for the price Has fish. Full dinner w/wine abt 40E pp Closed Monday
From Pzza San Giovani (NW corner of the Pza del Duomo) walk one blk East to Via dei Martelli. Go left to Via dei Pucci. Turn Right. Look very carefully on left. No sign. Door could be locked. Ring bell.
>Also, since I am a fashionista, how are the women dressed?
In general, quite nicely.
Enjoy your visit.

Il Ritrovo food was excellent, But:
It is downstairs and when we were there it had a musty smell
Strolling musicians come in from the street, who obviously have a relationship with the owner. If you do not tip them you get dirty stares. I had no Euro coins on me and was not about to give them a 5 Euro bill. We would never return because of this

Too bad.
Stolling musicians and flower sellers have the same relationship with all of the restaurants in the area. Everyone wants to make a euro.
