Florence--train station to Hotel Casci

The hotel gives directions for walking, but I am not sure how difficult a walk it is. Remember seeing a post saying the area did not seem safe. Are the streets rough and difficult to roll luggae over? Are there lots of steps? How long would it take to walk?

Dear Vera:

I would take a cab. We used to do it the economical way: walking. But as we have gotten older(both early 50's, yikes!!!) we cab it. Saves energy, confusion and stress.

Have a good trip.

Hi Vera,

www.mappy.com says it's about 1 km (20 min).

If you are arriving in the daytime the area is safe. At night, you might find it eerie, but my Lady Wife and I didn't feel threatened.

If you have rolling luggage, you will not find it difficult (unless it is very large rolling luggage).

Have a nice visit.

I think it should be about 15 minutes. The first part is the underground walkway, so it's smooth and easy to roll. After you get above ground (via ramps, don't need to do steps I believe), then it's a little rough on the pavement. It's fine if your luggage has decent-sized wheels and not overly heavy. [Like if you can pull it up a curb, instead of having to lift it.]

Thanks, all. I guess we'll just see how tired we are when we get there from running all over Rome (in the rain?)
