Florence to Rome Question.....

We are leaving in a few weeks and I have a few questions...

On our way from Florence to ROme we are thinking of booking Luca or Hills and Roads to transport us and take us on a few side trips....

He suggested Montepulciano and wine tasting in an underground old wine cellar. We were then going to stop in Orvieto.... then to Rome.

Here is my question- My husband wanted to take a night trip to Chianti for dinner and wine tasting one night while we are in Florence. Should we not bother since we will be visiting Montepulciano, or should we stop somewhere else along the way to Rome....

any suggestions if we do the later of the two?

Hi LIG,

When will you get to Orvieto?

It is well worth a visit.

Lunch or dinner in the garden of I Sette Consoli is worth a visit itself.

We will be in Orvieto in the late afternoon, early evening

The schedule Luca gave me was
Pick up at Your Hotel in Florence
Visit of Montepulciano + wine tasting in underground old wine cellar

15 – 16.30 : visit of Orvieto
19 : Your Hotel in Roma

We will be doing this on a Thursday (April 5th)

Hi L,

1:30 hr is a very short visit to Orvieto.

Perhaps you could visit Orvieto as a daytrip from Rome - 1 hr by train.

What's Luca's whole suggested itinerary?
