Maybe you are thinking of Pinchiorri (sp?)? It is on a hill near the Piazzale Michelangelo. There is also one in Fiesole that I can't recall right now, but it also has wonderful food and views. Good Luck.

Hi lw,
The Bar Blue has a terrac with excellent views of Florence.
The hotel Aurora next door has a very pretty garden restaurant, but the views are not as good.
We had dinner at I Polpa. I can't recommend it. Also, it doesn't have views.

Hello Ira, I haven't eaten at I Polpa since 1999, and it was excellent at that time.
I would like to hear about your experience there, and if it was later than 1999.
We were planning on eating at I Polpa on our next trip to Florence...maybe we'll try Carpe Diem on our way up to Fiesole.
