florence question

first time in florence, have tickets for uffizi plus want to go to accademia to see david. what's the best way to get from one place to the other. walk, bus, taxi?? thank you for any advice.

The answer is walk (unless there is some physical handicap issue?). But you might want to pick up a decent guidebook of the city before you go...they have maps in them that will permit you to judge distances for yourself. The centre of Florence is compact in the extreme and many streets are without car traffic, but watch out for the Vespa (scooters)!

thanks lj, no handicap issues unless the vespas get us. approx how long to walk?

More like :20, but try to hit Accademia after 1600 when the tour bus crowds have left.

We walked everywhere in Florence. The historic center is fairly compact.
