Florence hotels Recommendations

We will be in Florence in Oct ....any recommendations on hotels. 100-130 euros range. I'm also considering Fiesole as an alternative. Has anyone done this and liked it?

October is very busy in Florence and at that price range, you really have waited late to find good accomodation.

Look at Alloro B&B, Hotel Cestelli.

I like to stay in the center and visit Fiesole. Will you have a car? If yes, Trattoria Dino has six very nice rooms at reasonable prices.

We loved the Relais Cavalcanti:
http://www.relaiscavalcanti.com/english/index.htm when we were there last Oct. (Our trip report is on this site.) The owners are lovely and helpful and we felt as if we were in the middle of everything. Would eagerly stay there again.

We stayed at the Hotel Cestelli in 2005 and thought it was great - extremely well-located, just a couple blocks from the Ponte Vecchio, clean, comfortable and at the time, just 85 euros per night. The couple that own the hotel couldn't have been nicer or more helpful as well. No breakfast is included, but plenty of little cafes in the neighborhood to have your espresso and cornetti while people watching.

I was going to recommend the hotel Sanremo, where we stayed the last two visits. A nice, sleepy hotel on the other side of the Arno. Quiet, beautiful views of the city, etc.

But now I see that it's been converted to luxury apartments for daily, weekly, or monthly rentals ("Serristori Palace&quot. Looks very nice, but very expensive as well.

I'd still recommend staying on that side of the river, though. A short walk across the bridge to the heart of town, but a nice escape from the mopeds.

Stayed at Hotel Costantini in March. Great location right next to Il Duomo, it was a good value and I would stay there again. I booked on venere.com , if you haven't booked on venere before you can use this code and get 4% off (I donate the points) BENVDQG

We loved Relais Grand Tour. They have 4 suites, gorgeous, spacious, 10 minute walk to the duomo, quiet, internet computer in the room, amazing deal for 130E a night. We stayed in the Diva suite, but I think they are all really great. I highly recommend ths place. http://www.florencegrandtour.com/

Second vote for the Relais Grand Tour. Unique and completely wonderful. We stayed in the Actor's Suite, but asked to see all the rooms and would be happy in any of them. A special place, at a reasonable price!

In Florence we stayed at Hotel Pendini (Web: http://www.hotelpendini.net) and paid 110 euros per night, which included breakfast. We loved the location, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was good, too. Also, we highly recommend eating at Za-Za. Enjoy Florence.

We also liked Relais Cavalanti when we were there last May. It's in the center of things, and feels like an upscale Italian home. I wrote a detailed trip report about it here.

The Hotel Torre Guelfa is about 130 Euro per night in October. They are located about 3 blocks from the Ponte Vecchio and there is a maginicent tower leading up to a seating area where you can enjoy wine and the magnificent rooftops of Firenze.
