Does the expression "moderately priced" mean $60 a night for a double? or $260? (these are both extremes - - most people mean as much as 50-100% higher than this low end, but probably no more than 50-75% of the this high end).

Then, to make matters more difficuly you use the range of "moderately priced to expensive". If you were shopping for a car, this would presumably include everything from Geo to Lexus!

In any event, all that matters is what it your price range means to you. Hard to give you advice without this further guidance from you.

Best wishes,

Rex

Try the Hotel Continentale- excellent hotel just across the Ponte Vecchio, within walking distance to everything.

For a Florentine feel, I like the Hotel Berchielli, especially a room with a view on the Arno.

The Savoy on Piazza della Republica is a luxury choce with the best sopt for people watching in the city. We have a glass of wine there each evening but cannot afford the rates.

In the luxury range, you could also try the sister hotel of Hotel Continentale- the beautiful Hotel Lungarno. Again, excellent location, just across the river from the Continentale, and magnificent riverview rooms.
