FLORENCE - HONEY MOON

Looking for a very special place, preferably outside of Florence (5-15 km), with a romantic suite with a fireplace. Maybe in a castel/monastery with some strong Rennaissance flavour.
Any of the following would be great: view of Florence, gardens, private patio, swimming pool, bus transportation to D/T Florence.
Am not looking into luxury accommodation, but rather into the moderate/high range.

Any idea would be appreciated. Thank you.

Check out Villa Fiesole, in the town of Fiesole outside of Florece.I'm not sure the distance, but it's a short bus ride approx.15-20 min. into Florence, but a world away.
Beautiful views, pool etc. see: www.karenbrown.com under Florence hotels & www.florencby.com under 4 star hotels.to view phots. & read reviews.
Book through the hotel directly, if possible Florenceby.com has mean cancellation policies.
Karen Brown's web site has fax & phone info.
Congrats

COngratulations! I am going there for my honeymoon in November. Aren't these boards wonderful. Will you only be doing Florence? Try www.initaly.com, they have wonderful recommendations and lots of pics. If you find one you like I would recommend search around for a great deal

I read about a place called Castella di Spaltenna in the Chianti area. I beleive another honeymooner recommended it on a message board. They had some rooms with fireplace and jacuzzi tubs I think. I checked it out, but was a little too pricy for me. I am not sure what your budget is.

Hi Mark,

If money is no object, look up the Villa St Michele in Fiesole.

Fluffy, Try [email protected] or find it thru the Karen Brown site. The price will be with half board.

Check out Villa Vignamaggio just outside of Greve in Chianti. It is about 30 km from Florence.

Villa La Massa, about 15km from Florence, on the Arno. You should be able to find it in most guide books or possibly on the 'net. I think it would be perfect for a honeymoon---would be even better if you have a car.
